helllo all!
yesterday was great for myself. went fishing instead of hanging with halim and friends at east coast park. was all alone at the shore, only a pakcik few metres beside me. after setting the rig, i cast out a few times just to test the settings. the cast was a sucky one, lost 2 sstones after several tries, quite fed up as i lost the rig too. luckily, i managed to fix a rig in the dark. my torchlight was being quite an ass. suddenly, it blew. -_-
saw a couple making an outline of a heart shape with candles. so sweet. saw em taking pictures before they eventually f.off leaving the candles behind. took 5 candles and light it up around my stuffs. after 2 hours with no tug from the fishes, reel it in only to find my worm bait gone! damn it. decided to try harder. cast again. but the distance quite sucky. and i really enjoy my new rod. it got a feel to it. i mean my feel.
look on the side and saw the pakcik walking towards me. so i walked towards him too. and a new friendship begins.
his name is Cik Sani. such a nice man. offering help and teach me more about reels and casting. :)
"ada dapat dik?"
"takde ah cik. senyap jek dari tadi. haha"
"biasa la tu. air da surut. rod nye stand tu, kalau boleh cucuk dalam2, sini ikan die kadang2 tarik sampai boleh tercabut rod stand tu. kalau rod stand takpe, rod kalau termasuk skali cam ane?"
"oh. haha.. jap eh cik"
me trying so hard to poke the rod pike deeper.
"biar rod tu kene pasir, janji tak masuk air sudah. hehe"
"cik ada dapat ikan?"
"eh ada jugak. ikan kerapu, anak pari."
"oohh..pakai umpan ape cik?"
"udang. beli kat pasar. adek plak?
"umpan sarong jek. sal nari tak terpikir nak beli umpan banyak2. light fishing jek"
then we walked towards his stuffs.
"cik, boleh saya tengok ikan kerapu die?"
"boleh boleh"
i noticed his rod. he brought a total of 3 rod. a small telescopic rod which he already packed, and 2 big game rod. both loomis and franklin. paired with abu garcia reels. one is abu rocket and another which i failed to recognize.ahha. and i admired the kerapu aka grouper. not bad. good table size too. how i wished i could fight one. maybe mommy will be happy to cook it for us liked how i brought home a one arm length siakap 2 years ago on ramadhan. everyone buka on the siakap. hehe.
"woah. boleh tahan eh hasil cik!"
"boleh la. cik dari 630 petang tadi. air nga pasang. pakai rod kecik tu tangkap ikan."
"ohh saya dari 10 malam. datang pun air da surut"
"haha. cik pn duduk da 2 jam pn penat. menjala skejap tadi. dapat ikan pasir2. jadi jalan2 skejap la kan.excercise sikit."
while we were talking, i saw this suspicious man getting nearer my stuffs. so we walked back to my spot. he checked my rod with his super LED light.
"boleh tahan big game eh rod kau?reel abu garcia high speed.bape lama kau pakai drum?"
"oh dalam 6 bulan gitu cik.belajar semer sendiri"
"hrmm.. tapi kalau tak tau pakai, jangan pakai. nanti leceh."
"haha okay"
so we talked and talked all the way. then a question suddenly pop up in my mind. since my friends not really interested in fishing, whyy nooooooootttt...
"cik selalu pancing biler"
"oh cik pancing selalu hari 5. sal hari ni la tak ramai orang kan. bih pakcik pn tak keje hari 6. kadang2 pancing jugak la hari 6 kalau orang rumah tak pancing."
"oh sama la! tapi saya kadang2 tak pegi hari 5 pasal takde kawan nak pancing. cik boleh bawak saya pancing tak? kalau tak boleh tak ape."
"boleh la! ape salahnye. kau tinggal mana?"
"woodlands"
"wooiii! jauhnye tinggal. macam mana cik nak amek kau gitu?"
"oh kite jumpe kat bedok. dari situ, kite berangkat. itu pun kalau tak susahkan pakcik.."
"woodlands eh? tak salah pakcik ada bus gi straight dari rumah pakcik. adek ipah pakcik tinggal woodlands. hrm okay kalau gitu. umpan semer adek tak yah bawak. cik bawakkan."
"oh tapi kalau ulat sarong?"
"boleh tu semer pakcik leh carik"
"terima kasih eh pakcik. saya nak pancing pn susah gak. kawan tak berape minat. tu pasal saya pegi sorang nari."
"ohh gitu. takpe takpe. cik boleh ajar kau cam ane nak campak betul2 tu rod, pasal line ngan kau nye drum."
he offered me cast his rod but i hesitate because he uses a different type of drum than mine. much more advance and complicated. haha. he also thought me the different type of casting. light lessons for the mean time as it is dark. since im unsure about the settings to my drum, he helped me set it and he asked me to cast my rod and see the difference. so i level the weight, drop it on the ground, moved to the front abit to check wether my weight is stuck on the sand, and cast!! ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!! FREAKING FAR! I COULDNT BELIEVE MY OWN EYES!!! SO SMOOTH AND FARR!!! MY GOD. i nearly freaked out and he was all smiles when he looked at my happy face. i couldnt help it but to thank him so many times. haha.
we both exchanged numbers and pack up at around 230 plus. chat for awhile and he offered me the kerapu he caught but since i got no cool box, he said the fish will be smelly in the morning.. DAMN! haah but its okay. i look forward to fish with him one fine day but i seem to have lost his number and i really hope, that he will call me while im trying my best to recall.
haha. till here then. and i realised, learning is the most important factors in friendship. without it, we are not what we are right now. :))
