abstracted from my diary during the last 2 days.
Monday, 16 March 2009.
2 more days to POP. Cant wait for the day to finally come. Cant believe I make it through BMTC. Thanks to my Sargents, Platoon Commander 1st Warrant Officer Derrick and my Platoon Mates that pulled me through.
Still remember when I was first enlisted. Fresh from the box, confined for 2 weeks then finally, booking out. How lovely it is to see Singapore again. To walk in town and to relive them memories I spent time with my friends.
I learnt to be independent in NS. Grateful but theres a cost to it. A cost that one will certainly regret but yet, appreciate as they grow older. And just liked what it stated on the BMTC banner flag, "It's not what you leave behind but what you gain ahead"
Still remember field camp, live range and grenade throwing, Warrant Razali especially with his crazy jokes, Warrant EE ad his sarcarsms. And finally, all the people in Bronco Company that struggled together for the past gruelling 15 weeks (3 months, 3 weeks) and make it through thick and thin. Now, we have packed most our stuffs and seeing our cupboard empty just liked the first time we enlisted.
Even tho, I didn't get any awards at the end of the day but I've achieved my goal. Can't forget how my friends and my parents called me fat last time and it brought down my confidence especially when it comes to fitness level. Now, I've proved everyone wrong for I've achieved "SILVER" for my IPPT and lost 10KG with BMI of 23.9. I hoped I can still maintain my fitness level and my weight throughout the years.
Thank you Bronco Company, especially to people like Justin Gunawan. We came from both different world and I thought all rich people are mean and selfish but you proved me wrong. You trained me throughout BMTC and we sticked together and brought people liked Kevin, Martin, Alex and Simon. And Alex, thank you for bringing us to Zouk for the first time. Without you, we won't know how to enjoy our weekends. Kevin with his witty jokes and noisy laughter. Platoon 2 would be quiet and dull without you around.
For the first time, I shall jolt down the lyrics we all love to sing along whenever we do our marches and our route march.
Purple light, in the valley,
That is where I want to be,
Infantry, best companion,
With my rifle and my buddy and me,
SOC, sei bie chia lat!
IPPT, lagi worst!
Everyday, doing PT,
With my rifle and my buddy and me,
Booking out, see my girlfriend,
Saw her with, another man,
Kill the man! Rape my girlfriend!
With my rifle and my buddy and me,
ORD, back to study,
Got degree, so happy,
Cant forget, BMTC,
With my rifle and my buddy and me,
Purple light, in the valley,
That is where, my buddy dies,
If I die, would you bury me?
With my rifle and my buddy and me!
